Umami 33 is the Perfect Blend of Savory and Heat.
UMAMI 33 ENHANCES GRILLED MEATS, POULTRY, AND FISH, AND CAN BE ADDED TO NOODLES, STIR FRYS, OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BENEFIT FROM A DELICIOUS BURST OF HEAT.
About Umami 33
It is a great grill sauce, stir fry sauce, or finishing sauce. Umami 33 enhances grilled meats, poultry, and fish, and can be added to noodles, stir frys, or anything else that could benefit from a delicious burst of heat.
The name of the sauce combines the word Umami (うま味) or (旨味), which is the fifth of the ‘basic’ tastes (sour, sweet, salty, bitter, and umami). The translation of Umami is “pleasant savory taste.” To that, we added the number 33, which is how many batches it took for us to perfect our recipe. We think you’ll agree, we’ve added a bit of heat to create the perfect pleasant savory taste!
GETTING SOME LOVE
OUR STORY
We created Umami 33 in 2012 as a dipping sauce for artichokes. The first time that we tasted it, we knew we were onto something. We kept our base recipe, but altered it 33 times as we perfected the blend of spice and savory. During that time, we created dozens of recipes that feature the sauce, and we found that it elevated everything from ramen noodles to stir frys to steaks.
